The Uxbridge Cosmos is an award-winning hyperlocal weekly newspaper that provides readers with updates on the news and events taking place throughout the Township of Uxbridge. They cover a wide range of topics, including municipal politics, sports, entertainment, the arts and cultural events, as well as cover the stories, accomplishments and milestones of people in the community.

Website Colour Palette
Most newspaper websites use a black-and-white theme because it is easy and isn’t distracting when news article images are added to the site. However, The Uxbridge Cosmos logo is black, white and bright pink so I decided to use those colours throughout the website for brand consistency and to bring some more life into a typically black-and-white newspaper website that we see all the time. I often find using stark blacks and whites within a website can be harsh, so I opted to incorporate charcoal black and newspaper white into the colour palette.
Website Fonts
To keep this website classic and simple to read, I used the font ‘Italiana’ for header text and the font ‘Lato’ for body text.
